Training For Groups

Programs can be run at your offices as on-site training for your employees. These can be highly customized short programs on topics such as value-at-risk or organizational issues of risk management. They can also comprise one of the standard full-length courses described on this site—perhaps with customization to meet the specific needs of your staff.

If even five people are interested in a course, running it as an on-site seminar makes sense. Reasons include:

Customization: Together, we can plan a program specifically to meet your needs. We set objectives, draw on material from existing courses, and then supplement with material designed specifically for your needs.

Inexpensive: Check with other departments within your organization. Very likely, they will also have employees interested in an on-site seminar. The more employees who attend, the lower the per-person cost.

Empowerment: A seminar communicates insights to an entire group of your employees. As a team, they are empowered to translate that new knowledge into action.

Convenience: Nothing is more convenient than having a seminar at your own offices. There is no need to travel. Just show up for work!

Depending upon the subject matter, on-site training can be suitable for almost any group—from new hires to boards of directors. Glyn Holton has a unique ability to present sophisticated concepts at a level suitable for each audience.

The cost to have a course on-site is:

US$ 4,200 for a one-day program;

US$ 6,700 for a two-day program;

US$ 9,600 for a three-day program

US$ 5,300 for Secrets of Risk Management.

There is also a modest materials fee of about $50 per attendee, depending on the specific program.

Payment is due in advance including an advance for Glyn's anticipated travel expenses. The cost covers for each attendee:

Two booklets of course slides and exercises,

Pre-course self-study (if applicable),

Up to three days of instruction,

Post-course practice exam (if applicable).

On-site training should be scheduled at least two months (and preferably three months) in advance. Some organizations want to train a large group of employees but cannot have them all away from work at once. For such organizations, it is possible to run two on-site sessions of a single course during consecutive weeks. Half of your employees can attend the first, and the other half can attend the second. There is  a 20% discount on the fixed cost of the second session.

On-site training can be run at your offices. A conference room is a good location. It should have a large screen (preferably projection) computer monitor as well as two flip charts with magic markers. Alternatively, on-site training may be run at a nearby hotel or conference center. Courses typically run from 8:30AM to 5:00PM each day. For multi-day courses, we usually finish by 4:30PM on the last day. Some organizations order in refreshments and/or lunch. Others do not.

Glyn Holton has run numerous on-site seminars covering a variety of topics. If you have an idea for a program you would like to run, give him a call at (617) 481-2995 or send him an e-mail.
